Stalking Jaguars in Brazil – 2019
Deep, deep, in the Pantanal water shed, the jungle of Brazil, the Panthera roams and roars. Caught lounging along the upper Paraquay river. Patience and stealth in the darkness and shadows. Powering through the brown river every turn could reveal a Jaguar hunting Yacare Caiman, their primary food supply. The giant river Otter is a temptation for the Jaguar, if not for the Otter’s gang. With families of up to 8 in a clan they are extremely aggressive when threatened, being nearly 6 feet in length and incredible swimmers. These carnivorous mammals are not on the opportunistic Jaguars menu.
The Pantanal being the the world’s largest wetland is a paradise for birds and bird photographers alike.
